There, he majored in sculpture and minored in Art History Asia. In 1969, Alan began Wilkinson Koa Furniture. Currently, he became the commission at a shop in Pearl City, along with Mako Nitz and Kiyomi Kageyama. He was a meticulous craftsman, and at the top of the list of furniture makers in the islands. He is also very humble. A variety of wood furniture is produced by Alan Wilkinson, among others, chairs, tables, cabinets and so forth.
